Pilar Soberón

Artist, researcher and teacher in the Department of Sculpture and Art and Technology of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UPV/EHU, she is Doctor Cum Laude with her doctoral thesis “In-fluid: the fluid as a concept and artistic practice” (2016). From her research and artistic practice in nature, interactive works are born that invite you to enter a sensory universe, show the state of the Earth as an interconnected organism and experience the connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm, valuing the preservation of life.

Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally at festivals and art fairs, including: Musei Reggia di Portici, Naples, Italy (2022), Museo San Telmo, Donostia, Spain (2021), Zaha Hadid Stazione Ferroviaria AV Afragola/ Napoli, Italy (2022), Wiesbaden Kunstsommer Sculpturenparcours, Wiesbaden, Germany (2014), MIA Fair, Milan, Italy (2012), Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea, Donostia, Spain (2017), Vanguardia Gallery, Bilbao, Spain (2010, 2018) . First Prize for New Artists from Gipuzkoa, Spain (1995) and the Askatasunarte International Art Contest, Irun, Spain (2019), he has been a finalist, among others, in the ABC Photography Award at ARCO’03, Madrid, Spain (2003), Photíssima Art Prize, Venice, Italy, (2015) or Bienal d’art Pollensa, Mallorca, Spain (2019).
