Mikel Bilbao Salsidua
Graduated in Art History from the University of the Basque Country – Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, he has completed musical studies and three postgraduate degrees at the Deusto and Complutense universities of Madrid in areas related to his degree, such as documentation management, contemporary art or culture management. He began his career as a teacher and researcher in the Department of History of Art and Music at the University of the Basque Country in 2005 and, in addition to his tasks as a teacher, he has held the positions of Vice Dean of Academic Organization of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Academic Secretary of the Department of History of Art and Music and Director of the Classrooms of the Bizkaia Experience of the UPV-EHU.
A member of the consolidated research group Gizaartea, his work in this area focuses on various aspects of the history of contemporary art and design, a task that has been reflected in the publication of twenty research articles in indexed and peer-reviewed journals. peers, as well as in various monographs and exhibition catalogues. In addition, he has collaborated in research and advisory work with various institutions, including the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, the Bizkaia Historical Archive, Azkuna Zentroa-Alhóndiga Bilbao and the Eresbil Basque Music Archive.
